Even folks who have never played poker before get hooked on Texas Hold ’em by Phil Hellmuth. We’ll show you the ropes. But you only get to play once you get it on your mobile phone. Then if you’re feeling really lucky, try to beat Phil at his own game.
First, get the game onto your mobile phone.
Pick a unique username so your friends can find you when you play online.
Choose your mode
Choose whether you want to play solo or multiplayer. Solo, you go up against the computer. It’s a great way to get some practice until you’re ready to face other players. For multiplayer games, choose Play Online to challenge real players from all over the world. You can only get ranked from the Play Online mode.
Choose your table
There are nine table types to choose from. But don’t let the stakes fool you. The cash exists only on-screen.
Minimum Buy-In $50
Maximum Allowed: $250
Small Blind: $2
Big Blind: $5
Pot Limit $2000
Minimum Buy-In: $100

Tournament style play is available with each table type (5/10), Pot Limit or No Limit). There is a table available for seating almost continually - as soon as one fills up, another empty table becomes available. The game starts when the eighth player arrives to a table and sits down. Playing in a tournament costs a portion from the player’s bank ($250, $2000, $10000). As players go broke, they are eliminated until there is only one person remaining. The winnings are divided among the top 3 players with 1st getting 50%, 2nd 30% and 3rd 20%. The blinds start low for each tournament but rise steadily every few hands to move the contest to a conclusion.
Each table can also be played in Turbo mode for a faster game. Each player gets only 12 seconds per turn. So you’d better think fast. Select Play Online from the main menu. The list of tables displays. Select one of the Turbo tables.
In Solo Play, there is a 4th table type: Play Phil.
In this mode, the player goes up against Phil Hellmuth in a high-stakes, tournament-type game. (If you’re gutsy enough to take on the real Phil, choose Play Online and then Find Phil.)
Buy-In: Everyone starts with $100,000.
Small Blind: $250
Big Blind: $500
Play the game
The game is played just like Texas Hold ’em at a casino, tournament or your cousin Mickey’s basement. The objective: to create the best 5-card poker hand out of two cards dealt to you and the 5 community cards dealt on the table.
To start off, the person to the left of the dealer bets half the minimum bet — the small blind. Going to the left, the next person bets the full minimum bet — the big blind.
Next, the dealer deals everyone two cards. That’s when you make your first bet. You have 20 seconds (12 in Turbo) to make your move, or you’ll automatically fold.
Now three cards, called the Flop, go on the table as the community cards. You bet again.
Then another community card called the Turn card. More betting.
Finally, the River card comes down. One last round of betting.
If you’re still in, it’s time for the showdown — where everyone shows their hand. The highest hand wins the pot. Your bank account and credit limit will be updated on your mobile phone.
If you win enough, you’ll soon see your name on our rankings.
